EDDIE NKETIAH & CALLUM HUDSON-ODOI REPORTEDLY SWITCHING INTERNATIONAL ALLEGIANCES TO GHANA

Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah and Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi are set to leave their senior England squad hopes behind and represent Ghana instead, according to reports.

Football.london have reported that the two players have been persuaded to switch allegiances to Ghana in a bid to boost the African nation’s chances in this year’s World Cup.

With 16 strikes to his name in 17 appearances, Nketiah leads the England Under 21’s all-time scoring list. Despite this, he is still yet to receive a call-up for the senior squad. Football.london has reported the Gunners striker has received his Ghanaian passport which makes him eligible to play for the country.

Chelsea winger Hudson-Odoi made three appearances for England’s senior team back in 2019 when he was a teenager.

In September 2020, FIFA changed the rule so that players with no more than three international caps can change their allegiance if those caps were before their 21st birthday – making Hudson-Odio eligible to switch.

If both players officially make the switch, they’ll play for Ghana in a group alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
